First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the Brethren, February 16, 2026

Matthew 4:1

4 “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.”

Trials and temptations are constantly being thrown in the way of our journey to Christ as “the devil” tries to get our attention off what we have been promised if we persevere.  We talk about trials often and do our best to pray and encourage each other through tough times.

But we also need to be aware of our own temptations and how we can help others deal with their own “bumps in the road” that threaten to take our journey to Christ into the ditch.

– Pastor Dave
