First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the Brethren, August 11, 2026

Matthew 15:28

28 Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith. It will be just as you wish.” And right then her daughter was healed.

A Canaanite woman has asked Jesus to heal her daughter of demon possession.   Jesus, in a way that surprises a lot of people, tells her that He has only come for the lost sheep of Isreal.   But she refuses to lose hope, speaking to Him with humility, with reverence, with persistence and with humor — and her faith is rewarded!
